Emilie De Angelis, Principal and Owner
For more than 20 years, Emilie has helped nonprofits in the arts, culture, and education fields find and connect with donors to achieve major milestones and transformative ambitions.
Her experience includes:
• Managing and raising several million dollars for the early stage of Chicago's famed Steppenwolf Theatre's capital expansion
• Managing top level donor gifts to the $400 million Modern Wing expansion at the Art Institute of Chicago
• Overseeing the annual goal for corporate, foundation, and government gifts at the Art Institute
• Planning a groundbreaking retreat for 60 trustees and donors to jump start an ambitious endowment campaign
• Extensive experience winning foundation and government grants for transformative projects
• Crafting hundreds of VIP events that are intimate, exciting, and memorable
Emilie is a fourth-generation New Mexican, born in Albuquerque. She studied art history at Saint Mary’s College of Notre Dame and spent most of her career working at top nonprofit organizations in Chicago. Her consulting practice now serves nonprofit clients locally and nationally.
She’s served as a recurring guest lecturer for exhibition studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and as a career panelist for the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She taught a series of grant writing and evaluation workshops for Metropolitan Library Services in Chicago.
Emilie has served as a reviewer on several funding panels, including the Institute of Museum and Library Services in Washington, DC, and the CityArts panel for Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs.
In 2016, Emilie moved back home with her husband and son to reunite with family and rediscover sunshine. She's Vice Chair of the City of Albuquerque's Arts Board, appointed by Mayor Tim Keller. She also co-chairs the Builder Committee for Harwood Art Center / Escuela del Sol Montessori and sits on the board of directors of FUSION Theater Company in Albuquerque. She's the state leader of Moms Demand Action, as well as a proud breast cancer survivor.
